How We Started

Manny's Recycling began with a simple frustration: doing the right thing with your household waste was harder than it should be. Local recycling services were limited, drop-off hours were inconvenient, and too much reusable material was ending up in landfills.

So we decided to fix it. With support from neighbours and friends, we set up a kerbside drop-off point at 53A Donovan Street – just pull up to the stone wall, drop whatever you want gone, and drive away. Open to everyone, all day, every day, completely free.

No paperwork, no fees, no bins – just kerbside drop-off. Every item you bring us gets sorted and sent to the right facility so it stays out of landfill.

What Happens to Your Recycling

After you drop off at the stone wall, a team of volunteers sorts everything by hand. Paper and cardboard head to pulping mills, glass to crushing facilities, metals to smelters, plastics to reprocessing plants, and electronics to certified e-waste recyclers.

It's a simple process: we collect, we sort, we deliver. Nothing goes to landfill unless it absolutely has to. Every bag, bottle, box, and battery you bring us gets the best possible outcome.

If you're wondering about a specific material, check our what we accept page or browse our recycling guides for detailed disposal advice.

We're not a business – we're a community service. Every bag of recycling dropped off is one less in landfill, and every local resident who uses us makes Blockhouse Bay a little cleaner.
